Sending a Message to a Group – Real Magnet Redesign

Very little has changed with regards to how messages are sent to groups.

Just like with the old interface, your first step is to click the Send tab. This takes you to the Send Home Page featuring Real Magnet’s new grid view format.  These grids are found throughout the new interface, perhaps most notably on the home pages of each Real Magnet tab.   The screen shots below compare the old and new Send Home Pages:

Before: Send Home Page

After:  Send Home Page

From the Send Home Page, click one time on the message you want to send and select the Send icon send-button , or simply click the message name twice and you’re taken to the the main Send to Groups page.

The only real difference between the old and new interface is how you select the groups to send to.  In the old interface, this was done by adding a check to the check box associated with the group.  This could get clumsy and confusing for customers with a large number of groups in their account. Here’s an example of the section of the old Send to Groups page where you selected groups:

The new application leverages the paired grid system for selecting assets. In this instance, you use the paired grids to select the groups you want to send your message to.

After: Selecting Groups on the New Send to Groups Page

The top section of the paired grids includes all Available Groups that exist in your account. To select a group to send to, simply add a check to to its corresponding check box. By doing so, the group is transferred automatically to the bottom section of the paired groups, the Selected Groups section. As the name suggests, this section contains all groups that will be sent to. To remove a group after it’s been selected, simply deselect the check from its check box and it is automatically transferred back to the Available Groups grid.

Next, click Submit and you’re presented with a confirmation page displaying the attributes of the job.  Here you are given the options to the Submit the job for processing, or to cancel it.
